The experience behind the practice
Ferric Advisory draws on more than forty years of corrosion engineering by Mohamed Suleiman Kusha, built as the engineer responsible for corrosion on live assets in Libya, Qatar and the Netherlands.
Mohamed Suleiman Kusha, Principal
Mohamed began his career in 1982 as a corrosion engineer with Zueitina Oil Company in Libya, shortly after graduating in Petroleum and Mining Engineering from Tripoli University. Over twenty-one years he moved from field monitoring and inspection to lead engineer and, from 2000, Chief (Principal) Corrosion Engineer and manager of the corrosion department, responsible for five oil and gas fields and their export terminals.
In 1987 and 1988 he spent a year with Lummus Crest Engineering in the Netherlands, working on the design of gas processing facilities with responsibility for materials selection, corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection.
In 2003 he joined Qatar Petroleum, now QatarEnergy, as a Senior Corrosion Engineer. Over two decades he led corrosion engineering across offshore and onshore facilities, authored the company’s internal corrosion standards and specifications, led the migration to real-time online corrosion monitoring and contributed to establishing its AIMS and RBI modules.
He founded Ferric Advisory to bring that operator-side experience to clients who need senior corrosion and integrity judgement on a specific problem, programme or decision.

Senior Corrosion Engineer

- Led corrosion engineering across offshore and onshore facilities, including tanks, pipelines and process units.
- Authored Qatar Petroleum’s internal corrosion standards and specifications.
- Developed and maintained corrosion monitoring programmes and led the migration to real-time online monitoring.
- Contributed to the establishment of the Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS) and RBI modules.
- Directed the implementation of ICCP and SACP systems for production assets.
- Led online corrosion monitoring and the application of vapour-phase corrosion inhibitor (VPCI) to tank-bottom undersides.
- Provided technical consultancy on materials selection, failure analysis and corrosion troubleshooting.
- Managed corrosion-related contracts and supervised and mentored teams of engineers and technicians.
